CRAB CATS
I started making these in Savannah on plentiful real blue crab shells. I made and sold over seventy of them to help support a feral cat program I was part of. When we moved back to California, I learned how to make two-part silicone molds and cast the shells in resin. After trimming I paint on the cat faces using the natural contours of the shell. The eyes are finished with thick glossy medium to mimic lenses.
